Do you find yourself unsure of knowing whether your baby is hungry/ tired or if your milk supply is meeting your baby’s needs?  Well, these are some of the issues a lactation consultant specialises in solving.

My name is Jane Bolster and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Midwife with a strong passion to assist women and their partner adjust to life with a new baby by addressing issues associated with breastfeeding and baby behaviour.

There are many services in the community available to mothers with breastfeeding difficulties, however, sometimes the difference is, getting the information whilst sitting in the chair you actually feed in, at home.  This is where a home visit by a lactation consultant (IBCLC) may prove invaluable.

Prior to becoming a lactation consultant (IBCLC), I also experienced issues with breastfeeding. A visit from a lactation consultant was the reason I continued to breastfeed my baby. The information I received was exactly what I needed at that time. It was practical and absolutely relevant.  I understood what was normal and how to develop problem solving skills regarding feeding and baby behaviour.  This is why I became a lactation consultant and has shaped the services I offer.

As a lactation consultant and midwife, I provide home visits in the Sydney metropolitan area or FaceTime/ Skype sessions for women in regional, rural or overseas. Most visits are arranged to occur either on the day of the enquiry or the next couple of days.

Today is the launch of my new website and my first ever blog!! I hope this website will become a resource site for information relating to breastfeeding, newborns, midwifery, pregnancy… as well as offering individualised assistance via private lactation consultancy in your home or via FaceTime/ Skype.
